Meet The Foundation Committee Members

The NGC Foundation’s Chair, Michael Bishop has been active in the not-for-profit sector as a committee member of Eyes for Africa Charitable Foundation since 2007, supporting cataract surgeries restoring sight to thousands in Ethiopia. Since 2022, he has served on the board of the Pat Cronin Foundation, which educates teens to eliminate coward-punch violence, and also sits on the board of a private ancillary fund. He was President (2018–2022) of Mornington Peninsula Athletics Club and remains a committee member. Michael earned dual honours degrees in Law & Commerce from the University of Melbourne in 1997.
He joined Pointon Partners Lawyers in 1997 and was appointed a partner in 2005. As a senior lawyer, he advises on employment law, M&A, estate planning, commercial contracts, and establishing not-for-profit entities. Michael has been a member of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Workplace Relations Committee for over 15 years. He enjoys spending weekends at his Rosebud holiday home and weekly golf at the National.
Sue Crow AM

Susan Crow AM, a seasoned sport and community leader, has held CEO and executive roles at Women’s Cricket Australia, Netball Victoria, Softball Australia, and led community initiatives as Head of the City in the Community Foundation at Melbourne City FC. She champions health, wellbeing, and inclusive access to sport – especially for women, girls, and disadvantaged groups – through targeted programs and high-performance frameworks.
Sue was the first female to be appointed to a Game Development role in Australian football and to be appointed to the Board of Cricket Victoria. As Deputy President of the Portsea Surf Lifesaving Club she aligns deeply with The National Golf Club Foundation’s mission to enhance community engagement. Now retired, Sue seeks to continue her legacy, and that of her father (club Patron Frank Haward) by using her experience to enrich the club’s member and guest experience.
Colin Carter

Colin Carter’s career was with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He has been a director of Wesfarmers, SEEK, Origin Energy and Lendlease as well as non-profits including World Vision, Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and the Cape York Institute for Indigenous Policy. Colin was President of the Geelong Football Club between 2011 and 2020 and was an AFL Commissioner from 1993 to 2008. He was co-author of the Federal Government’s review of Australian sport in 2009 and the review of governance at Cricket Australia in 2011. He has been a member of The National Golf Club since 1999
Rory Doran

Rory Doran is a former golf professional with experience at Royal County Down (NI) and Kingston Heath, where he passionately ran junior golf programs; drawing on memories from his youth at Banbridge Golf Club. A member of The National for seven years, Rory transitioned eight years ago into corporate life as Director & Co-Owner of The Hassett Group, a leading executive search firm.
He also serves as a mentor at Startup bootcamp, an international organisation with the goal of accelerating 100,000 impact-driven startups in the next decade. Rory is driven by a desire to give back to the sport that shaped him and is eager to support The National Golf Club Foundation’s focus on junior golf. Based in Melbourne with his wife and two young daughters, Rory values the chance to help grow opportunities for the next generation.
Hunter Drew

Hunter Drew, a lawyer by training, co-founded a European asset management firm where he raised and managed institutional capital. Over the past decade, he’s focused on real estate investment management. Since relocating from London in 2022, he has been a member of The National and resides in both Melbourne and Arthurs Seat. Hunter brings strong committee experience from clubs like Warringah Cricket Club (Sydney) and Streatham & Marlborough (London), where he applied his skills to support club governance. He’s passionate about leveraging the Foundation to promote diversity – especially for families, younger members, and women golfers – through inclusion programs and community events.
He views the Foundation as an opportunity to create meaningful community impact and deepen member pride.
Chris Thomas

Chris Thomas, a British advertising veteran and marketing strategist, brings over 20 years of global leadership experience across 80 markets, including stints at Mars, Mercedes-Benz, VW, PepsiCo, Visa, and J&J. He managed a US $1 billion P&L and 5,000 staff at the C-suite level and now serves on a publicly listed board while advising startups. Passionate about youth inclusion—especially for women—he excels in creative strategic thinking, consumer marketing, and communications. Since retiring from corporate life, Chris has worked with Australian entrepreneurs on business strategy, and for five years as volunteer director of Kiteboarding Australia, where he led strategic, marketing, and communications initiatives.
Outside work, he’s an avid Couta boat racer, along with being a kitesurfing expert, and an enthusiastic golfer at The National. Based in St Andrews Beach, he’s driven by a focus on having fun while helping others do well.
Meredith Ramadan
(Club Captain)

Meredith Ramadan’s corporate career encompasses more than 30 years’ experience across an extensive range of business sectors, with recognised expertise in IT service delivery, project and client support management, including senior management roles at KPMG and Hewlett-Packard. During 2011 she was Women’s Golf Network Manager at Golf Victoria. Meredith has served in various roles at The National including as women’s pennant coordinator, Women’s Golf Coordinator, founder of the National Women’s Invitational and as a member of the Membership Sub-Committee from 2009-2013. A member of the Club since 2006, she became Captain in 2022.
Cade Witnish

Cade Witnish is an accomplished Australian entrepreneur and executive with over 20 years of experience in the technology and sports industries. He has co-founded and led several innovative organizations, including Loud&Clear, FanHub Media, and Sidekicker, focusing on enhancing fan engagement and digital experiences for major sporting leagues such as the NFL, NBA, and AFL.
As a co-founder and board member of PlayHQ Sports, Australia’s largest sports participation platform, Cade has significantly contributed to the Australian sporting landscape. His extensive background also encompasses strategic advisory roles, culture transformations, and philanthropy, particularly in children’s sports and community engagement. Cade’s passion for golf and commitment to community initiatives align with his interest in contributing to the NGC Foundation.
